Black Ember House is guided by a founding Board of Directors committed to responsible governance, thoughtful stewardship, and the long-term strength of our mission.

Our board brings experience across public service, leadership, education, communications, human resources, organizational strategy, community engagement, and systems-level impact. Together, they provide strategic oversight, accountability, and guidance as Black Ember House grows in service to the community.

The Board of Directors of Black Ember House is committed to ethical leadership, responsible governance, transparency, and stewardship of the organization’s mission. Together, we help ensure that Black Ember House remains accountable to its purpose, responsive to the communities it serves, and grounded in the belief that strong communities begin with strong people.

  • KIMBERELY DIXON

    CHAIR

    Kimberely Dixon is a community-centered leader committed to service, advocacy, and meaningful connection.

    She has established strong partnerships with local law enforcement agencies and brings lived experience, a deep understanding of community harm and repair, and a collaborative approach to building trust across systems. Her leadership helps guide Black Ember House with a focus on relationships, accountability, and lasting community impact.

    VICE CHAIR

    Chanda Fuller is a community-centered leader committed to strengthening individuals, families, and communities through service, collaboration, and relationship-centered leadership.

    She brings valuable human resources experience along with a strong understanding of Department of Human Services systems. Her knowledge of organizational practices and family-serving systems provides important perspective as Black Ember House develops programs that support individuals and families.

    Jonna Frater is an experienced leader committed to organizational excellence, thoughtful collaboration, and community-centered service.

    She brings years of board service experience and a strong understanding of nonprofit governance, organizational stewardship, and effective collaboration. Her experience helps strengthen the board’s commitment to accountability and sound governance.

    Nathan Webster is an experienced communications and marketing professional with expertise in storytelling, brand development, strategic communications, and community engagement.

    He brings valuable perspective in communications strategy, public engagement, organizational visibility, and authentic storytelling, helping Black Ember House effectively communicate its mission and expand its impact.

    BOARD MEMBER

    Anne Harris is a people-centered leader with a longstanding commitment to education, mentorship, and community well-being.

    Through years of teaching and mentoring students, she has dedicated herself to helping young people grow, succeed, and reach their full potential. She brings valuable perspective on youth development, relationship building, and creating environments where individuals feel supported, encouraged, and empowered.

    BOARD MEMBER

    Jayme Ballard is a nationally recognized housing and economic mobility executive with nearly two decades of experience leading complex public sector initiatives, advancing cross-sector partnerships, and expanding opportunity for underserved communities.

    She brings deep expertise in executive leadership, public policy, strategic partnerships, organizational performance, and systems-level impact.

    Jayme Ballard serves on the Board of Directors in her personal capacity. Her service does not represent or imply endorsement by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development or the federal government.
